Don't know your left and rights? It may be dyslexia.

Did you know that 8/10 people with dyslexia struggle with directional knowledge? This often shows up as B/D reversals in children. As a child, I also struggled with B/D reversals, but as an adult, I struggle more with lefts and rights (just ask my husband!). I remember the moment in grade 6 when I finally figured out using the word "bed" to know which is B and which is D. I remember learning that when you put your fingers into the L shape, the left hand makes a correct L. I also remember endless adults exasperatingly asking me "Which hand do you write with? Because that's your right hand." Did that ever work for me? Never. So this is your reminder to be patient with your child with dyslexia. Keep offering them different tips and tricks, but don't be frustrated with them if they don't get it. Just be patient and know when they finally find the right trick, it'll stick with them forever.
